Our Next Production ... Sunshine on Leith
So for 2026, we move from the Dagenham in the depths of Essex, to Leith the port to Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh. Unlike Made in Dagenham, Sunshine on Leith is not a true story, but it does reflect real life at a time when young men were being sent to fight in Afghanistan and then returning uncertain of what lay before them.
Set to the songs and music of The Proclaimers, themselves adopted Leithers, the show depicts the different relationships of three couples - Ally and Yvonne, Davy and Liz, and Rab and Jean. Ally and Liz are Rab and Jean's son and daughter. All three face difficulties in their relationships, and not all of them end up happy ever after.
The show captures every emotion imaginable, helped along with some of The Proclaimers' best known songs - '500 Miles', 'I'm On My Way', 'Life With You', 'Letter From America', and of course the titular song 'Sunshine On Leith.' You'll want to sing along to all of these and many of the other less well known, but equally great songs.
